Payslips
Your payslip appears here, and you get an email, as soon as your employer approves the month's payroll. Open one to see your earnings and deductions, and print it or save it as a PDF from your browser.
Payslips from earlier months stay here, so you can download them whenever you need them, for a loan or a visa application, say.
Tax declaration (India)
Your employer works out TDS on your salary each month. Telling them about your tax-saving investments and expenses means less tax is deducted during the year, instead of a refund after it.
- When your employer opens declarations for the year, the Tax declaration section shows Open, and the date it closes.
- Choose your tax regime (old or new). Under the new regime most deductions don't apply, so there's less to declare.
- Enter what you expect to invest or spend: for example, investments and insurance under section 80C (your PF is counted for you), health insurance under section 80D, your HRA exemption, and interest on a home loan.
- Submit. Payroll checks it, and you'll see Verified when it's done.
Your employer may ask for proofs (rent receipts, investment statements) before the year ends. Declare what you actually expect: if proofs don't match, the difference is adjusted in later months' TDS.
This is general guidance, not tax advice. Your employer or tax adviser can help with your own situation.
