Sample data fills every module with a realistic small business, so you can see MSMEPulse at work before you add your own records. It's for new workspaces, and an Admin installs it from the Explore with sample data card on Home, or in Settings โ Sample data.
What you get
The sample business is in your industry (the one you chose at signup, or in Settings โ Company details): a CA firm gets audits and GST returns for traders and manufacturers, an architect gets design and fit-out work for home owners and developers, and so on.
- Projects started from your industry's project templates, with their tasks, milestones and document checklists, part-way through.
- Four sample team members with job titles that fit your industry, clients, and a few weeks of timesheets.
- Invoices in every state: paid, part-paid, overdue, cancelled, and one in a foreign currency.
- Leads, deals in the pipeline, and proposals (accepted, waiting, draft and declined).
- Support tickets, expenses and vendor bills, attendance, leave requests and notices, and calendar events.
- A payroll run for last month and a draft for this month, if payroll is switched on.
India workspaces get GST invoices with your industry's SAC code, TDS deducted under the usual section, and rupee amounts; Singapore workspaces get GST and dollar amounts. Modules you've switched off are left out.
How it stays apart from your real records
- Every sample record is marked Sample.
- Nothing leaves MSMEPulse: no emails, no payment links, no accounting sync or Tally export, no webhooks. Sample contacts use example.com addresses.
- Sample invoices have their own numbers (DEMO/โฆ), so your real invoice numbers start at 1.
- The sample team members can't sign in and don't count towards your plan's users. Sample clients, projects and invoices don't count towards its limits either.
- The Get started checklist only counts your real records.
You can keep working while sample data is on. One thing waits: real payroll runs can't start until sample data is removed, so sample and real employees never mix in a run.
Before you install
- Add your company details first (Settings โ Company details): sample invoices print them.
- Sample data can't be added once your workspace has real invoices or a real payroll run.
Removing it
Go to Settings โ Sample data and click Remove sample data. Every sample record goes; your own records stay as they are.
If one of your real records uses sample data (for example, a real invoice for a sample client, or a task you added to a sample project), nothing is removed and MSMEPulse lists those records. Change or delete them, then remove the sample data again. Records you've already deleted don't count; they go with the sample data.
