1. Start a draft
Go to Invoices โ New invoice (or New invoice on a client's page) and choose the client.
2. Add what you're billing
- Ready to bill lists the client's approved billable time and completed milestones. Click Add for each one you want on this invoice.
- Add product or service adds an item from your catalogue, with its price and tax details.
- Blank line is for anything else.
Time lines keep their hours fixed, because they come from approved timesheets. You can change the description and price.
3. Check the details
On the right, check the invoice date, due date (set from the client's payment terms), currency and any PO number. The Totals box shows exactly the tax that will be charged:
- India: CGST + SGST for clients in your state, IGST for clients elsewhere, nothing for exports under LUT.
- Singapore: GST on standard-rated lines, if you're GST-registered.
For another currency, enter the exchange rate so the tax can also be shown in your home currency.
4. Save the draft, then issue it
Save draft keeps it private and unnumbered. Open the draft, check it, then click Issue invoice. Issuing:
- gives it the next number (India: a new series each financial year, like
INV/26-27/0001) - locks it, and marks its time and milestones as billed.
5. Send it
Click Email to client. Your payment details from Settings are included. Or use Print or save PDF and send it yourself.
Before your first invoice, add your company details and your payment details (Settings โ Invoices and time). Both are printed on every invoice.
