These details are printed on your invoices and decide which sales taxes are charged. Have your CRA business number and, if you have them, your provincial sales tax registrations nearby.
Business number
Your 9-digit business number from the Canada Revenue Agency. It's optional here, and printed on your invoices when you add it.
Address, province and timezone
Your registered address and its province or territory, which decides your team's public holidays. Choose your timezone too: dates, reminders and attendance use it.
Are you registered for GST/HST?
- Yes: enter your GST/HST number. Tax on each invoice is worked out from your client's province: HST in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, GST elsewhere.
- No: your invoices won't charge GST/HST.
GST/HST number
Your business number followed by RT0001, for example 123456789RT0001.
Also registered for
Tick the provincial sales taxes you're registered for: QST (Quebec), PST (British Columbia or Saskatchewan) or RST (Manitoba). We add that tax for clients in that province. If you're not registered, clients there are charged GST only.
Financial year
The month your accounting year starts. It sets the year for your reports and the T2 date on your compliance calendar.
